FOREST OF FAME

Combines carbon sequestration with recognising persons who have made sterling contributions to humanity. Trees are planted in honour of individuals or groups at schools, office compounds, places of worship, parks and residences. CZITT typically combines the creation of a Forest of Fame with another CZITT activity at the organisation. The Forest of Fame is intended to encourage tree planting with all its benefits. Examples are St Augustine Girls’ High School at which six former teachers were honoured and the Chaguanas Borough Corporation where six trees were planted with the High Commission of India in recognition of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.

Picture shows Hazel Manning, wife of former Prime Minister, Patrick Manning, and Presentation College san Fernando, Mr Dexter Mitchell, honouring Mr Patrick Manning with an induction to the Forest of Fame.
