CZITT’S awareness activities are designed to promote action in carbon reduction and offsetting. CZITT has targeted secondary schools as a major demographic in creating long term change. CZITT also works with corporations through their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Carbon emissions are biggest contributor to global warming and climate change. CZITT promotes reduction in carbon emissions through energy efficiency improvements, use of renewable energy and reduction in waste. CZITT promotes solar power for domestic, commercial and utility scale usage.

Carbon neutrality is achieved by minimising the carbon footprint and then offsetting the balance of carbon emissions through corresponding carbon sequestration. CZITT promotes the planting of trees for carbon offsetting such as the 1000 Trees Challenge. CZITT is developing a Carbon Offset Register (“CORE”) to record major carbon offsetting initiatives and track the country’s progress to carbon neutrality.
